A popular Wa-based businessman and his two-year-old son have been confirmed dead after a speeding tipper truck run over them some hours ago, MyNewsGh.com reports.

The incident is reported to have occurred Wa-Eiper Street just in front of L-Sawmill within the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region while the man was walking with his son on the shoulders of the road.

Details of what caused the vehicle to veer off its lane and run into the two still remain sketchy

A local Journalist Morris Banaamwine who confirmed the incident wrote on his Facebook Page “Very shattered and devastated this evening as I watched a tipper truck swerved a tractor and killed Mr Abdul Gafaru Osman and his son on the Wa-Eiper Street just in front of L-Sawmill on my way to the office. Till we meet again… May Allah forgive them and all forgone souls”

Police in Wa have confirmed the unfortunate incident when reached on phone by MyNewsGh.com reporters but indicated that the bodies of the two have been deposited at the Wa Government Hospital Morgue pending an autopsy.

The driver of the tipper truck is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
